About the Event
This is a challenging day hike of approximately 7 miles round trip with nearly 3,500 feet of elevation gain. The trail begins with a gradual climb through forests and meadows before ascending into a stunning alpine basin beneath the dramatic Three Apostles. From there, we'll make our way up rocky terrain to the summit of Huron Peak (14,006'), where incredible views of the Sawatch Range await. Dependents or one non-Veteran friend may be allowed, reach out to tony@HCVACO.org for this possibility.
Tony and Steve will be leading the charge, keeping the pace steady, the spirits high, and making sure everyone gets plenty of opportunities to catch their breath, take in the scenery, and enjoy the journey. While Huron is considered one of Colorado's more accessible 14ers, it still demands respect, preparation, and a willingness to earn every step of the summit.
