Horsing around with HCVA

Summit Valley Horse Center is partnering with High Country Veteran Adventures to help our Veterans experience horses and accomplish thier mission of “Provide rehabilitation to rescued horses, so they are more likely to be adopted into loving homes. We also aspire to enrich the lives of both our community of volunteers and visitors to Summit County by providing them the opportunity to learn about the nature of horses, how to communicate with them, and to experience the well-known benefits of horse-human connections.”

Introduction to Horsemanship

This program is for adult and youth members who desire more experience in learning about basic handling, training fundamentals and preparation for working with the foster horses. Classes allow participants to work with trained horses and learn the proper technique of catching, groundwork, desensitizing, grooming, saddling, and introduction to riding.
